Hosting Engineer - CICD, DevOps, VMware, RedHat Linux, Storage, Powershell, Azure

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage Infrastructure Hosting estate (Virtualisation, Linux, Storage, Backups)
• Oversee key infrastructure areas (Networks & Provisioning)
• Ensure deliverables align with DevOps best practices
• Organize team resources to meet delivery timescales and mitigate risks
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coordination for engineers
• Handle support, escalations, incidents, and root cause analysis
• Transfer technical skills to UK and abroad colleagues
• Support and guide external/internal service providers to successful outcomes
• Develop and implement administration standards and procedures
• Advocate for automation and Infrastructure as Code

Skills and Expertise:

• Expert in Red Hat Linux and VMware vSphere administration
• Knowledge of storage technologies (eg, PureStorage)
• Proficient in PowerShell and Scripting languages
• Experienced with DevOps tools (Ansible, Git, etc.)
• Strong understanding of network technologies (Firewalls, switching, routing, TCP/IP, WAN, LAN)
• Team management experience
• Strategic thinking and risk analysis
• Adaptability to change and shifting priorities
• Strong communication skills for all levels
• Relationship-building with leaders, customers, and team members
• Experience with Terraform and hybrid environments (preferably Azure)
• Project management experience
• Knowledge of Intel Windows server technology (Windows 2019/2022) and Microsoft technologies
• Disaster recovery experience
• Previous ITIL exposure
